Respite Care

Nursing an Elderly

Respite services refer to temporary care and support provided to individuals who require ongoing assistance with daily living activities but whose primary caregiver is unavailable or needs a break. These services can be provided at Prairie Ridge and we offer short-term stays ranging from a few days to several weeks.

Respite care services provide the opportunity for caregivers to take a break, attend to personal or work-related obligations, or simply rest and recharge. During their stay, individuals receiving respite care can access the same range of services as long-term residents, including medical care, assistance with daily activities, and social activities.

Respite care can be a valuable option for caregivers who need temporary relief from their caregiving responsibilities, allowing them to continue providing high-quality care over the long term. Respite care can also be a valuable option for individuals who may benefit from the services provided in a long-term care facility but are not ready to make a permanent move.

Hospice Services

Young Hands Holding Old Hands

Hospice services provided in a long-term care facility refer to end-of-life care and support provided to individuals who have been diagnosed with a terminal illness and have chosen to receive comfort care rather than curative treatment. Hospice care at Prairie Ridge  focuses on providing relief from pain and other symptoms, as well as emotional and spiritual support to both the patient and their family members.

With the partnership of local hospice providers, we allow our residents the opportunity to direct their care goals, while also receiving all of the services provided for long term care residents are our facility.

Hospice services can include assistance with pain management, medication administration, emotional and spiritual counseling, and assistance with daily activities. We work alongside community Hospice care teams which include physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, and volunteers who work together within our facility to provide compassionate care tailored to the unique needs of each individual. Hospice care can provide comfort, dignity, and support to individuals and their loved ones during a difficult and emotional time.
